Inter-Branch Transfers

Move stock between branches, linked to the orders that need it

When a branch can't fulfil a customer order from its own stock, the answer shouldn't be a phone call and a spreadsheet.

Merchanter's Inter-Branch Transfer (IBT) function lets you move stock from one depot to another - with every transfer tied directly to the sales order it's resolving, and full visibility of cost and margin throughout.

There's no internal invoicing. It's a stock movement, handled cleanly within the same system your team is already working in.

Order-driven transfers

IBTs are created directly from the sales orders that need fulfilling — not as a separate admin task.

Full line-level traceability

Every transfer line shows which order and customer it relates to, with cost and margin visible throughout.

No payment, no complexity

Transfers carry no financial type or payment status - just clean stock movement between depots.

Created from the order, not around it

When a sales order requires stock that isn't available at the fulfilling depot, Merchanter surfaces that need and lets you act on it immediately.

The IBT creation screen shows all open orders requiring stock from a specific depot, including the customer, product, quantity and due date. You select the lines to include and create the transfer - directly linked to the orders it will satisfy.

The result is a draft IBT with full order line detail, each line traceable back to the originating sales order and customer.

Cost and margin tracked at line level

Even without internal invoicing, Merchanter maintains financial visibility across every transfer.

Each IBT line shows the product cost, transfer value and margin percentage - so the business can see the true cost of fulfilling orders across depots, without needing to cross-reference separate reports.

Pick dates and due dates are tracked independently, keeping warehouse and sales teams aligned on what needs to move and when.
